Pleasance & Harper was founded in 1879 by Mr J.G. Harper and Mr C.R. Pleasance. We commenced business at 4 Wine Street in Bristol. In 1895, Mr Pleasance died and Mr Harper assumed control of the business. Mr Harper's three sons joined the business in 1919 and formed a private limited company. The Bristol premises were destroyed in an air raid during the Second World War.

Pleasance and Harper today continues trading in Hereford as a fourth generation family jeweller. The Company is now run by the grandson of the founder, Anthony Harper as Chairman, with the founder's great-grandson Mark Harper and Brian Hudd, who has over 25 years service with the firm.

The values of Pleasance and Harper remain the same as when John George Harper founded the company. As Hereford's leading independent jeweller, we offer unparalleled customer attention and service, products of the highest quality, with a large selection and superb value for money.

As a member of the Company of Master Jewellers buying group, we can offer an extensive choice of fine jewellery from all over the world. This means we can buy more competitively than any other group of jewellers. Our range includes Fine Diamond and coloured Gemstone rings, Fine English, Italian, German and Welsh gold and silver jewellery, diamond and stone set jewellery. We also offer a wide selection of giftware to suit all occasions for men or women (e.g., christening, anniversary, birthday, wedding, or just to spoil someone) from a traditional piece of silver to a contemporary kaleidoscope.

We are agents for Omega watches, but as a Company of Master Jewellers member we can supply most of the leading makes and luxury brands of watches.

If you have an enquiry about items not shown in the small selection on this site, please contact us and we will be delighted to help you purchase that special gift.
